URALSIB Capital speakers at the international conference TELECOM 2009. Konstantin Chernyshev, head of the research department at URALSIB Capital and senior telecommunications analyst, and Konstantin Belov, an analyst on telecoms, media and technology spoke at the fifth annual international conference, TELECOM 2009, arranged by Vedomosti.

Konstantin Chernyshev participated in the discussion panel “Will the Western operator-driven mobile retail market model be recreated in Russia?”, which was held during workshop, “New trends in the mobile retail market in Russia. How will the market change in the nearest future?”. Experts discussed the economic situation in the Russian mobile retail market and ways for it to stabilize.

Kontantin Belov, an analyst on telecoms, media and technology participated in the round table “the Investment attractiveness of the telecommunications services market in the environment of recession in the global financial market”. The main topic for discussion was the current situation and forecasts for the future of the Russian telecommunications market.

This year Vedomosti held the first conference Telecom 2009, which combines two individual communications conferences, Fixed-Line Communications and Wireless Communications. This merging of conferences on wireless and fixed-line communications was due to current market trends: the major players are progressively consolidating through the new market niches and the creation of diversified telecommunication holdings. The new conference format helped to considerably increase participation in the conference. Apart from leading communication operators, regulatory authorities and representatives of Telecom operators, the conference was attended by internet-providers, software and IT-equipment developers and manufacturers of telecom equipment.
