Vladimir Tikhomirov, URALSIB Capital’s Chief Economist, was a speaker at the conference: “Economic cycles: logic of crisis and peace, instruments of private capital protection”. This was the third session in the series of “Investor Academy 2009”.

On 22 May, 2009, at Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Moscow, the third conference of the “Investor Academy 2009” series took place. The theme of the conference was investment opportunities during the economic instability, and instruments to protect private capital.

The conference opened with the session: “The Expert Panel”, in which leading investment analysts and experts participated.

The report by Vladimir Tikhomirov during “The Expert Panel” was enthusiastically received by the audience and led to a lively discussion, during which the expert answered multiple questions from the audience. The points of discussion were: trends in the global economy and the prospects for the financial system; the importance of the domestic and international investments in the creation of a global financial center; and ways to stimulate private investment in Russian under the new market conditions.

Vladimir Tikhomirov is a holder of PhD in History and the author of many scientific studies, articles, lecture courses and other scientific works, published in Russia, the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa and the United States of America.
